The Crawl

Dillin's on the move!!!

Wow, what an eventful week it has been! Dillin started crawling, standing with support AND cut two teeth!! To top that off he had a bit of a cold, so sleeping around here hasn't been so peaceful. Despite the lack of sleep, we are very excited for our little man! Austin loves the new mobile Dillin too. They can play together in a whole new way!

Since Dillin became mobile he has this strong desire to stand and really want to walk like his big brother. He get pretty frustrated when he can't get up and take off like Austin. So, to reduce some of that frustration we bought Dillin a walker. I think Austin likes it more than Dillin does really. Here's a short video I took with my cell phone of Austin pushing Dillin around in the kitchen (as that seems the place the walker works best).

(Sorry it's sideways. I can't figure out how to rotate it.)

Austin likes the walker so much that we've caught him in it several times. His only frustration is that he can't get himself out once he's in! Seems he's reverting back to his baby days...

I will leave you with some pics of Dillin. I set him in his crib while I was chaning Austin and when I turned around here's what I saw! This kid's going to be walking before his first birthday for sure!

Busy, busy, busy!

As usual, I've been terrible at updating our blog. And, as usual, this post will be packed full of pictures of our latest activities. I'm not the English major, like my dear husband, so I prefer to share in pictures rather than text.
We spent Fourth of July weekend over at my parent's place at Lake Cushman. It was a beautiful weekend and perfect for boating!

Austin and Daddy floating in the lake

The following week, Daddy was out of town on his annual fishing trip on Ross Lake. So, me and the boys went to visit Thomas the Tank Engine in Snoqualmie. We had some great company too, Grandma Susan, Uncle Jason and cousin Sydney joined us for the fun!

Getting ready to go see Thomas!

Dillin chillin' in his new shades. :)

Austin loves his new engine!

On the train, ready for the ride!

Austin's first time in the bouncy cage

And today was a lazy day. Austin and I spent some time out in the yard this morning watering before Dillin woke up. After diaper changes and bath time we spent some time at the park before cousing Sydney came over to visit.

Austin just wanted in on the fun...

I walked in the kitchen with Dillin for literally two seconds and found someone in the bouncy when I returned...such a wonderful life!

We have grass!!

Here's just a few pics as promised. The grass is growing!! Our yard has come a long way and is still a work in progress...as is the house! We'll get there someday soon!
I'll leave with you a pic of Dillin. He's able to balance on all fours, but has no desire to go anywhere just yet. I think he'll be crawling before we know it!

Especially for Grandma Marilyn

Dave's mom, Marilyn, sent up a mini video recorder so that we could post videos of the kids as well as photos. She was very excited about it because it's so small that I can stuff it right in my purse and catch the boys doing what they do while we're out and about.

We received the camcorder this afternoon and here's my first video to share. It's nothing special...just Austin getting on the computer (Dillin was sleeping).

Fun at the Beach in Downtown Kirkland

We had beautiful weather yesterday and after a visit with Grandpa and Grandma Meyers (those pics coming soon!), we headed down to Kirkland for some dinner and beach time with Grandpa and Grandma Brockert. Mom and I frequent this location as we often meet for lunch at Kidd Valley and then head across the street to Lake Washington. It was a beautiful and warm evening. The water was surprisingly warm and Austin jumped right in, of course! Dillin still is unsure about the water unless it's bathtub temp. So, he hung out with Dad and Grandpa Ed on the bench while Mom and I paraded around with Austin.
